Hurricane The chorus to this song began its life in another song about an inmate who breaks out of the pen and heads back to North Florida to get revenge. But I always thought the original sounded awfully pretentious and so rewrote the mess to make it into a song simply about a hurricane rather than one about a guy who was so mean it was like having a hurricane coming into town. On this cut I use a 1934 National Trojan in G tuning. Sean, Steve Amadee, and John Magnie (on accordion) provide all the rhythm I could ever need. I throw some pretty simple harmonica on the end with a few electric tracks. Those "hurricane sounds" at the end are my old Strat being played through a '67 Fender Princeton-Reverb maxed out. |
